How to make homemade healthy granola
Its a known fact now that cereal is one of the absolute worst foods for our health. This fact absolutely sucks! We all crave that crunchy yummy bite on a spoonful of milk and that craving is hard to ignore when you are trying to eat and get out of the house fast to get to work or get your kids to school. Well what if I told you you could get that same crunchy goodness but in a nutritious and delicious way? It is called GRANOLA.
What is granola?
Granola is basically healthy cereal. It is made up of oats, nuts, seeds, and sweetener such as honey or maple syrup. It is made by baking and stirring it until it is crispy and delicious.
What are some health benefits of eating granola?
Granola contains a lot of fiber that will help your body stay regular. And regular eliminations is a must for optimal health
The oats in granola are high in beta-glucan, which is a soluble fiber that helps lower cholesterol
It can help lower blood sugar
It can help with brain fog and mental awareness
It can help with weight loss because it is nutrient dense and keeps the body fuller longer
Granola is rich in proteins, fibers, and and micronutrients
Granola is such an easy way to easily bring more health you your daily diet
Eat it with milk like a cereal
Use it as a topping for your favorite yogurt or smoothie bowl
Make quick grab granola bars for you and the kids to enjoy on the road
The biggest downfall with granola is the hidden sugars in the granola you buy at the store. The best way to enjoy is to make your own healthy homemade granola.

Homemade Granola
Ingredients
- 4 cups rolled oats
- 1 cup nuts (Pecans, Almonds, Walnuts, Brazil nuts, etc.)
- 1/2 cup salted seeds (pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds are best)
- 2 Tbsp Chia Seeds
- 1/4 Cup Hemp Seeds
- 2/3 cup unsweetened coconut flakes
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 cup melted coconut oil
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup Organic 100% pure maple syrup
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees
- In a bowl combine oats, nuts, seeds, coconut flakes, and cinnamon. Mix together until thoroughly incorporated.
- In another bowl combine coconut oil, maple syrup, salt, and vanilla extract. Whisk together
- Incorporate your wet ingredients into your dry ingredient bowl. I like to mix up using a fork or my hands. But warning hands are messy!
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and pour your granola mixture onto sheet. Try spreading mixture out evenly across sheet
- Bake for 10min and then stir and press down mixture with spatula
- Bake for another 10-15min until crisp.
- Let sit 45min-1hr
- Store in air tight container
- Enjoy!!
