Best Baby Products in 2024 for the natural mama
Finding out you are pregnant is one of the most exciting times in your life, and the most nerve wrecking! I remember with my first pregnancy when the thought hit, “oh my gosh I have nothing for this baby, what do I need?!” Then I started watching every YouTube video, scrolling Pinterest, and reading every Mama Blog I could find on the best baby products.
Let me tell you all babies and mamas are different so there is definitly not a one size fits all on baby products. However, after having 2 babies that were polar opposites, I am confident that I have come up with a list that will make not only your baby happy, but your life as a mama easier!
Also as a reminder I only recommend products that are clean and safe, as well as products that I have actually used and know first hand they are good products. NOW LET’S GET TO THE GOOD STUFF!
Diapers & Wipes
Now as a natural mama I know what you are thinking, “she is going to tell me to use cloth diapers” and that would big a big ol negative from me. I know it is technically your cleanest and most environmentally friendly diaper, but this mama is busy and my boys are messy! So these are the non toxic diapers that I found work for my lifestyle (also I made them links so if you want to add them to your Amazon registry just click on them!)
-Pampers Pure.
Honestly this was my go to diaper for my boys. I found them to be easy to find in stores and to have the least amount of leaks and blow outs
-Hello Bello.
Such a cute diaper! Definitely a good pick if you love to have all things cute and stylish for baby
-Seventh Generation.
I used these with my first baby. I love that they are available everywhere and a clean brand, but I did think they felt a little uncomfortable material=wise and they did leak for me.
-Water Wipes.
I should probably own stock in these wipes at this point. I have tried every brand of non toxic baby wipes and these are by far the clear winner. They work so well and do not carry the strange odor that some other baby wipe brands have.
2. Swaddles
This is a subject that I am just going to warn you ahead of time that every baby is different. My first son only would be swaddled in one particular stretchy material swaddle. My second son would actually do the easy to use zip or velcro swaddle. My suggestion is just start out with 1 of each kind of swaddle and see which your baby will use, if any, before ordering a bunch of swaddles.
-KeaBabies 3-Pack Organic Baby Swaddle Sleep Sacks.
These swaddles are an easy to use Velcro swaddle that are perfect for your hospital bag! If you are anything like me, after you have that sweet baby you will be exhausted and overwhelmed and the last thing you want to figure out is how to properly swaddle. These are a nice easy option that saves us mamas a little stress.
-Soft Muslin Swaddle Blankets.
LOVE these swaddle blankets! They are soft, easy to manipulate, and they have the cutest colors!! This is a multi use blanket really. It was nice to always have one of these bad boys on hand for a quick cover up for breastfeeding or an extra blanket for baby.
-Burt’s Bees Baby Unisex Beekeeper Wearable Blanket.
All I can say about these is yes buy one! My first son hated his arms being trapped, but I did not want to risk him being covered in a loose blanket instead of a swaddle. These Burt’s Bees armless swaddles are just perfect. They are super soft, easy zipper access for changing diapers, and give mama peace of mind while baby is sleeping!
Pacifiers/Bottles
This subject is a lot like the swaddles, every baby likes something different. So maybe purchase one of a few different brands of bottles and paci’s for baby to try. If you are going to breastfeed I still recommend keeping 2-3 bottles on hand incase you want to pump and let hubby feed baby or leave baby with friends or grandparents.
-Ryan and Rose Cutie PAT Silicone Pacifier Teether.
This pack of pacifiers is perfection! Not only are they super cute, but the pack gives you every pacifier shape there is for baby to try so you can figure out what type of paci your baby prefers.
-Itsy Ritzy Natural Rubber Pacifiers.
These pacifiers have been a hit with my friends kids and my own. They also are really cute and the perfect natural colors for any gender!
-MAM Easy Start Anti Colic Bottles.
I know I know these are not glass, however, they are very easy to clean and they are BPA free. The reason that they are on the top of my bottle list is because they are a God send to any parent that has a gassy baby!! These are an absolute MUST HAVE on my baby products list.
-Phillips Avent Glass Natural Baby Bottle.
These glass baby bottles are tried and true. Many natural mamas recommend them and most babies will take them. If you plan to go the glass route this is a great bottle to try!
Breastfeeding Necessities
Planning on breastfeeding? Here are the must have products that I would not have been able to survive without!
-Organic Nipple Butter Breastfeeding Cream By Earth Mama.
Just put this on your registry right now if you plan to breastfeed…trust me. Whether it is your first or fifth baby when you start breastfeeding it is painful. This is a great natural balm that will give you relief and help keep the girls hydrated.
-Haakaa Manual Breast Pump And Milk Catcher.
THIS BABY IS MY HOLY GRAIL BABY PRDUCT! If you are like me and determined to breastfeed but do not naturally make a lot of milk this little silicone product is a MUST. You put the Haakaa on the breast that you are not feeding the baby on and you can pump out/catch all the milk that comes out of the other breast while feeding. I have been able to freeze numerous extra bottles because of this product. There is also an amazing trick if you have a clogged duct that you can use the Haakaa along with Epsom salt to get the clog out! If you don’t have this on your registry yet add it now!
-WeeSprout Nursing Cover.
Forget about all the fancy nursing covers that cost $$$ get yourself some good covers like these that do not break the bank. They cover you fully that you can feel comfortable doing what you need to do, but the price range makes you not feel so bad then they get milk, spitup, and lord knows what else on them.
Clothing
I am not going to waste your time sharing a bunch of cute baby clothes because all our styles are different. However, I do recommend you investing in some organic zipper onesies that zip up from the bottom for easy diaper changes like these:
-Little Planet By Carters Onesie
-Touched By Nature Onesies
Sleep Necessities
Sleeping is one of the major things that set babies apart and it is the one thing that can make or break a parent in the newborn phase. These are the things that helped this mama get as much sleep as possible.
-Fisher Price baby bedside sleeper.
I am here to tell you the truth..I am 50/50 on this bassinet. My first baby did not like to sleep in a bassinet, he wanted to sleep on his belly or sitting up. But my second baby loved this bassinet and I slept so good while he fit in it! This one is nice because it has soothing sounds and vibrations on the bassinet.
-Hatch Baby Sound Machine.
YEEEESSSSS girl you need a sound machine. You do not want anything waking that baby up when you finally put them down. Also the sound machine reminds the baby of being in the womb and makes them so much happier and calmer in my opinion.
-Mamibaby Portable Sleep Lounger.
A baby lounger is a great baby product to have around the house. They are easy to move into any room, the baby can use it to nap on, lay and play on, or you can use it for a soft place to change a diaper in any room of the house.
Baby Bouncer
-Ingenuity Smart Bounce Automatic Bouncer.
This little bouncer is AMAZING! All you do is press a button and it gently bounces the baby just like that. Gives mama a break and entertains your little one. Best bouncer on the market and I have bought it on several occasions for my own friends baby showers. To be honest this is the product that gave me the freedom to be able to take showers haha!
Baby Swing
-Ingenuity Inlighten Baby Swing.
Such a cute baby swing! It swings both ways and is not an eye sore like a lot of swings. This swing is where my children spent 90% of their time in the first 4 months of life. It is a must have!
Medicines/Toiletries
-Nose Frida.
All new parents think this is gross…and yes if you let yourself think about it it is. But there is a reason you find this product on every mom blog…it works! None of the other nose sucks clean your babies out like this one. Once you get past the gross thought of it it is a life saver!
-Mommy’s Bliss Gripe Water.
This product is a life saver for a gassy fussy baby. You just give them a little bit of this and they feel relief in the next 20min.
-Baby Grooming Kit.
For a baby grooming kit you honestly don’t need anything special. A simple kit like this is all you need for all baby’s grooming needs.
-Frida Baby Cradle Cap System.
All baby’s get cradle cap and I hate it. It just puts such a damper on their cute little looks. Be ahead of the game by having a cradle cap brush and comb ready to start using at the first signs of it.
-Earth Mama Calming Lavender Baby Lotion.
Such a good smelling clean non toxic baby lotion, highly recommend!
-Earth Mama Organic Diaper Balm.
This diaper balm is tried and true. It has great reviews from mamas all over and is known to help sooth baby and clear up diaper rash. Just another awesome product by Earth Mama!!
10. Bathing
-Blooming Bath Baby Bath Set.
This little flower is the best!! It fits snug down in your sink and makes bath time with a newborn fun and easy. To be honest with you my one year old still prefers to take a bath this way!
-Angel Care Baby Bath Support.
Love Love Love this little bath tub! I am a germaphobe and I love the little holes in this tub that help it dry out and keep it from growing gunk all over it like other bath products. Both my babies really enjoyed this little tub and it made bath time safe and easy for mama too!
-Baby Bath Rinse Cup.
As a parent the fear of getting soap in your baby’s eyes at bath time is a real thing! This cup makes it easy to rinse baby’s hair with the rubber stopper that rests on baby’s head to keep the water from going into their eyes.
-Babyganics Baby Soap.
This product is actually a favorite of my husbands. If I ever tried another organic soap on the kids he would always say to go back to this one. It is gentle on the kids, has a pleasant mild smell, and the price doesn’t break the bank for an organic soap!
-Burts Bees Hooded Towels.
These hooded towels feel so nice and are a great size! A lot of hooded towels I have received are almost crunchy feeling and not long enough, but not Burts Bees!!
-Burts Bees Wash Cloths.
Just like their towels Burts Bees is my winner for wash cloths. They are very nice quality and super absorbent!
